According to the relevant regulation of the Turkish Commercial Code, foreign companies are free to establish any kind of company in Turkey. In order to provide foreign companies to open branches in Turkey, the capital of the companies have to be divided into shares.

There are some certain processes and procedures required for foreign companies to open branches in Turkey.

• Companies must start their processes by obtaining permission from the Turkish Republic Ministry of Industry and Trade.

• Later, companies have to be registered in the Chamber of Commerce and Trade Registry.

• Foreign-capital company branches, which are within the scope of Foreign Direct Investment Law, are required to provide the necessary documents and make their application to the relevant ministry.

Opening of branches for foreign companies in Turkey are subject to the permission of the competent authority. It is necessary to prepare required documents for these permits and the foreign language documents must be submitted as notarized by performing apostille procedures.
